High-End Web Design Publication and Community, ~4,200,000 pageviews

Stylegala.com web design community screenshotI almost didn’t notice that stylegala.com is up for sale at SitePoint. It’s a highly popular web design community with lots of traffic. In the sales thread it says that there is about 4,200,000 monthly pageviews from 900,000 visits. There is of course also revenue which is about $2500 a month.

Well, it’s a very interesting website and there is too much about it for me to write about here. So check out the sales thread. Remember that such a site will take a lot of maintenance.

There has also been some buzz about this on various blogs.

It’s on auction with a starting bid of $30,000 which has already been made, also a $36,000 has been made. But that’s still a steal since the website is worth a lot more.

Pennsylvania Directory, Classifieds and Event Website. ~$3000 monthly revenue

It’s been quite a while since my last post and I regret that. I’ve been so busy that I just couldn’t find the time to write here. Also I find that there has not been as many interesting websites for sale as usually. I often first saw the good ones when they where almost already sold.

Enough about that because there’s a decent website for sale at SitePoint. The website is www.butlerwebs.com and has a steady income and lots of traffic. According to seller it makes about $3000 a month where the $2000 is through adsense. Regarding the traffic he states that there is around 15-20,000 unique visitors daily.

The fact that there’s several recent blog posts which links to the website makes me believe that it’s true. Just try and search for the website on technorati and you’ll see them.

It’s an auction and the bidding starts at $26,000, which it definitely must be worth.

Drink Recipes Website for Sale, 400,000+ monthly pageviews

mydrinkrecipes.com drink recipes website screenshotOn SitePoint and DigitalPoint there is a site called MyDrinkRecipes.com for sale. It’s a rather popular drink recipes website with 400,000+ monthly pageviews done by approx. 4,000 daily unique visitors.

By checking out the stats provided in the sales threads I found that there is definitely space for improvements regarding SEO for Google. The website receives only a little percentage of the overall search engine traffic from Google, which I believe doesn’t reflect the actual amount of searches on each individual search engine.

Another thing I found, that I believe all potential buyers should look into is that about 80% of the sessions doesn’t have a referrer. This is a little odd, but maybe the seller can clarify the issue. It could be that there are that many regular visitors, but I don’t think that is possible.

This website is for sale on auction with a starting bid of $3,000 and a BIN price of $6,500, which seems a little bit high considering that it makes on average $240 a month. And drinks websites doesn’t have any special growth potential - it takes hard work.

Console Site Network for Sale, $2000+ monthly revenue

psp-spot.com screenshotThere is a console games site network for sale at DNforum. The websites in the network are psp-spot.com, ps3-spot.com and xbox360-spot.com. The entire network has a monthly revenue of $2000+ and there is a lot of traffic on the websites, but with the PSP site as the “main attraction”.

There is a very well populated forum at the PSP site with almost 60.000 members. The sites are large and a little bit hard to get a full understand of within short time, so I won’t go into further details. But if you’re interested in that kind of websites I think you should check it out.

This is what the seller says about the auction:

Football News Website for Sale, ~500.000 monthly pageviews

footballexpo.com soccer news website screenshotThere is a football (soccer) website for sale at SitePoint. The website is footballexpo.com which according to seller recieves about 500.000 monthly pageviews, and generates $500-600 in revenue.

The seller claims that it has made more than $500 revenue with adsense since it was started 20 days ago. It seems rather unusual for a website to receive that much traffic so quickly after being created. But he also tells that the traffic comes from newsnow.co.uk and lots of other uk football club sites, which seems to be correct.

I wonder how much money there are in ads on sports websites of all sorts like water skiing or basketball for that matter.

The site is for sale with a BIN of $1500.

Popular Arcade Website for Sale, ~30,000 daily uniques

onlinegames.net arcade website screenshotOnlineGames.net has been put up for sale at SitePoint. This is a very popular flash games website with many sorts of games - from sudoku games to action games. It has about 30,000 unique visitors a day. The site makes near $3,500 monthly through Adsense, YPN, Casale Media and Fastclick.

The traffic has been stable for several months according to seller, so it - as he says - should be a good investment. The starting bid is $45,000 with a BIN of $120,000. I’m not sure it is worth the BIN, but then again a website with this kind of traffic is often worth A LOT MORE than the “usual” 12 months of revenue.

Another MySpace Site for Sale with 110,000 monthly pageviews

myspace-place.com screenshotThere is another MySpace site for sale at SitePoint. This site is myspace-place.com which like the one I just mentioned has traffic of 110,000 monthly pageviews.

It also has revenue, but that is only ~$135 monthly through adsense, so it is only earning a third compared to the other MySpace site. So I guess that any buyers should take this into consideration. Since the two sites are alike, it is very possible that by looking at the best performing site, one could improve this site to earn much more than it currently does.

Another interesting thing about this site, is that 50% of the traffic is coming from search engines, according to seller. And most of the the other visits is through affiliates or they are returning visitors. So a buyer should consider if it is possible to gain traffic directly from peoples MySpace profiles.

The site is for sale on auction and the bidding starts at $1200.

MySpace Site for Sale, $400 monthly revenue

krustie.com myspace site screenshotThe site is krustie.com which is for sale at SitePoint. It is turnkey but it has traffic of about 140,000 monthly pageviews and revenue of ~400$ trough adsense.

The adsense is very aggressively positioned, so I wouldn’t expect on improving revenue through those. But if you already have a deal with a CPM based ad network, you might be able to increase revenue by implementing such, at the same time as having adsense.

As I understand it, most of the traffic comes from peoples MySpace profiles, but the seller also talkes about SEO and some rankings, so I guess there is also some search engine traffic.

The website is for sale for $3000, which seems okay if it is the kind of site, where it is not hard to keep the traffic at the current level. I think that one would be able to earn back their investment.
