It’s been quite a while since my last post and I regret that. I’ve been so busy that I just couldn’t find the time to write here. Also I find that there has not been as many interesting websites for sale as usually. I often first saw the good ones when they where almost already sold.
Enough about that because there’s a decent website for sale at SitePoint. The website is www.butlerwebs.com and has a steady income and lots of traffic. According to seller it makes about $3000 a month where the $2000 is through adsense. Regarding the traffic he states that there is around 15-20,000 unique visitors daily.
The fact that there’s several recent blog posts which links to the website makes me believe that it’s true. Just try and search for the website on technorati and you’ll see them.
It’s an auction and the bidding starts at $26,000, which it definitely must be worth.

I just found out that BlogExplosion (which I previously reported being for sale) has been sold for a pretty decent amount. On their blog they write “Our final closing price was in the six figures and well beyond our minimum bid of $100,000“. That’s a very nice sale, and for the notice it was brokered by Jeremy Wright!
On the official BlopExplosion blog they also write about a lot of new features and improvements that will be implemented. It’s great to see that the buyer has big plans for the website, and that they’re not just interested in “milking the cow”.

Thers is a free hosting community for sale at SitePoint. The URL is stormloader.com and stormpages.com. The community is very community is very old since it’s established back in 1999.
Seller describes the community as: “Free hosting community with over 200,000 members. A user signs up for free, then can build a website. Completely automated software. It runs by itself.”
Seller states that there is a revenue of $4000 to $6000 monthly from Adsense and YPN placed on the member sites. The traffic is also pretty high with 4 - 5 million monthly pageviews, which comes from members promoting their websites.
The community is for sale with a price of $70.000 - not an auction.

The team behind blogexplosion.com has made it public on their blog, that they have decided to put the blogging community up for sale. This is what they say: “BlogExplosion will be going up for sale next week. We will be sending out a special email early next week with full details about how we plan to sell the site.”
There is some overall stats on the blog, and a description of what goes with the sale, that you can check out already now if you’re interested in the website.

An image hosting network with three different sites is for sale at SitePoint.
The sites are:
oniva.com - previously myphotospace.com
myphotodrive.com
afreeimagehost.com
The seller wants $45,000 for the sites, which I find rather high. First of all, the price is around 2 years of profit. Another reason for why the price to be too high, is that the revenue has been dropping a bit over the last year. So could anyone really expect to earn back their investment in a reasonable time? I’m not sure - I wouldn’t take the chance.

A new website just went for sale at Sitepoint. It is DropWatch.com which is a service that provides real time stats for expiring domains information for estimating traffic on expired domains.
The website had a revenue of $4193.21 in december 2005, but it is this far the highest revenue obtained. According to the revenue details provided by the seller, there has been a steady increase since january 2005 (the stats don’t go further back). The revenue is generated through member subscriptions, and is based on a monthly fee, so there is a good reason to believe that the revenue will increase further.
The auction starts at $140,000 which is too much, and the BIN is $233,500 which I think is absolutely unreasonable. Imagine what you could build with that much money… But who knows, he might be open for lower offers. Anyway there is definitely a good market for expiring domains, so if this website gets marketed well, there will probably be a very good pay off.
