Did you forget to pre-register EU domains?

EURid eu domains - logoThis upcoming friday the EU domain rush will get rolling… EURid opens at 11:00 on Friday the 9th, and they expect it will take some hours to process all the pre-registrations that registrars has been accepting during the last months.

So did you forget to pre-register your desired EU domains? If you did, then you still have a chance, but if it is “popular” domains you want to register, then the race is probably already over for you. With all the pre-registrations that will be processed some of them is probably for the same domain name you’re thinking about right now - which ever it is ;-)

At http://status.eurid.eu/ you are able to follow the stats for the .eu domain registrations, so if you’re into that, go check it out friday when the rush begins. It should update every 15 minutes, so it is going to be exiting to see how many domains will be registered. And even more exciting to see if one gets those applied for…

Domain Prices of 2005

DNJournal provides us with a comprehensive list of domains that sold in 2005. The list includes price, date and where the domains sold. Domains that are listed has sold for prices of $10,000+

It is pretty interesting to look at the domain list to get a better idea of potential domain value, which should also be taken into consideration when buying (and selling) websites.

Sex.com domain sold for $14,000,000

I just read at a post on SiliconBeat that XBiz reports that the domain sex.com has been sold for nothing less than $14 million dollars. Gary Kremen who recently won the fight over the domain, has been unavailable for comments according to XBiz. They also state that the company InternetRealEstate.com takes part in the sale.

It is interesting to see how much a domain name can be worth. I recall business.com beeing solg for $7.5 million and I just checked some other high domain sales.

Beer.com - $7 million (2004)
Diamond.com - $6 million (2000)
Loans.com - $3 million (2000)

See the highest domain sales here!
