Blog for Sale: GeekCoffee, $8000 revenue last year
February 15th, 2006
The technology blog GeekCoffee (geekcoffee.net & geekcoffee.com) is for sale a NamePros. There isn’t much information in the sales thread, but according to seller the blog should be pulling in around $8000 a year through advertising.
The seller is asking for $8,500, which was lowered from $10,000, so I guess that the interest hasn’t been overwhelming.
Be aware that it seems like there is currently both Google’s Adsense and Yahoo!’s YPN on the blog. This is as far as I know not allowed. So you might not be able to pull the same revenue from it.

Nice found, and good question!
I don’t know, since I’m not the seller. I didn’t even notive the SiteMeter icon. But I have some possible reasons.
1. The SiteMeter stats shows that there was a lot more activity in May and June 2005. So the seller might have stated the revenue based on what it earned in the last 12 months. Which I must admit, gives a wrong impression.
2. There could be some high paying ads. And using Adsense along with YPN could give a high CPM.
But I believe it’s mainly the first reason, and that the ads might have been more aggressive in the past (this is just a wild guess).
The conclusion must be that the blog probably isn’t worth the price.
I’m glad you like this site! It still very new, but I hope to improve it in the near future.
